FAQ
Did you know that 4 out of 5 dogs have had some periodontal disease over 3 years old?
Dental disease is more than just a cosmetic issue — when your dog has red gums, yellow teeth, and stinky breath, it could be a sign of severe oral disease that could, if left untreated, lead to devastating effects on your pet’s quality of life. Neglecting your pet’s teeth and gums can cause chronic pain issues.
Dental disease can lead to problems with your pet’s organs. Bacteria under the gum can travel to the heart, kidneys, and liver.
Some of the main signs that it is time to have your dog’s teeth cleaned is:
● Bad Breath: Doggy breath isn’t normal. Regular cleanings remove bacteria and germs that cause bad breath
● Inflamed Gums (gingivitis) : Signs of gingivitis are if your dog’s gums bleed when they are chewing on sticks or toys
● Visible plaque and tartar on the surface of the enamel.
In General, the best way to keep your dog’s mouth healthy is to schedule a cleaning twice a year. However, In some cases, such as older dog’s or small dog’s who build up plaque and tartar very easily, then every 4 months is recommended.
It takes approximately 40-50 mins
I always recommend that my client’s brush their pet’s teeth daily. Make it a part of your routine and your dog will thank you.
